Yesterday, after talking with X, I came to the conclusion that starting a philosophy club wasn’t a good idea. Now, I need to focus on the English club and do my best to make it work. Next week, X promised to make flyers, which means that soon I have to commit myself fully to the work. First of all, I’m going to write posts where I’ll talk about “what”, “why” and “how” the club is supposed to function. Then, I’ll make a survey handing out the flyers. Moreover, I’ll dedicate a certain amount of time to thinking about the means by which I’m gonna achieve my goal. I assume that the goal is a place where people may get in and practice their English as often as they need. It must be as cheap as possible, which is gonna be realized by attracting a great number of people. Ideally, it must also be very addictive. After anyone comes across this place, they have to experience something that is gonna bring them back again and again, even against their will. Not because the customers are supposed to be helpless morons, and not because they have nothing else to do—one goes there because one feels great progress in his English, in his ability to communicate with others who have the same interests as himself. In a word, one must feel as if it were the best place on earth for him to be in.
